A large selection of tools and more. Coming soon Industrial straight needles & cover-stitch. QUICK SEW PROJECTS -These projects are Ready-to-go complete with instructions and supplies. Most require sewing - because that is what we do! The selection of projects change monthly. A fun time to enjoy with friends while creating. Many are beginner or kid friendly = a great way to share the Legacy of Sewing.

Occurs every Thursday

Sewing Machine Operation

This class is for the first time sewing machine owners or someone who needs a refresher course. Learn the features of your sewing machine and what is their purpose. Learn how to use the feet. Learn sewing machine maintenance and proper selection of needles and thread. Bring your own machine, if you have one or reserve one of ours. This is a pre-requisite class for Job Skill Certification. This class consists of a session 2-3 hours .

Learn how to use a serger. Bring your own serger to add to your skills or use ours. Serger Basics - 2 sessions This class covers basic serger sewing. Proper Threading and maintenance, thread tension and understanding serger features. Participants of this class will create a workbook with samples of stitches, mastering curves on your serger, creating special hems and more.

We want you to volunteer at The Sewing Labs! All of our volunteers are expected to go thru an orientation. This is a one session orientation training which will give you the tools and insights on how to be the best volunteer you want to be. Orientation will cover; opportunities for volunteer, rules of operation and safety precautions for everyone in the program and more. Pre-registration is required. Even if you are just interested in finding out more before deciding to volunteer this is a great opportunity to explore what The Sewing Labs is.

Industrial Straight Needle Basics

Learn the skills to operate several types of the industrial/commerical straight needle. Skills building for accuracy & speed using working examples. Our Master Instructor; Nancy Peterson has a lifetime of skills & knowledge to share with you to assure you have real-life experiences in the commercial sewing world. This course is for the person interested in securing employment in sewing. The course consists of class lectures & labs. The course runs for 8 weeks. Course fee $500 for 2 months - monthly payments available. Limited scholarships available - contact us for registration.

Sewing as a Second Language  - closed session

This is a closed class for the Don Bosco/Lincworks group. This group is learning sewing for job skills -from Sewing Machine Operation to Basic Sewing Skills - the students will work thru skills and projects building on their skills and techniques that they will learn. Site visits to local employer who use sewing in their business is included. Students will be tested on the skills that they learn and can earn a certificate. Tool Kit is required for class.
